Hi, I’m Emmerson Edmo, though most people know me as Emmie @emmieandhercamera

I started my photography business where I bring my perspective as a Shoshone and Blackfeet Native American woman to the art of storytelling through photography.

As a photographer, producer, and art director, I specialize in commercial, portrait, and fashion work. My background in marketing, production, and styling allows me to create imagery that feels both vibrant and true to each client’s story.

For nearly a decade, I’ve been capturing work that celebrates authenticity and collaborating with Indigenous artists to elevate powerful narratives.

My Photography Is Now

on Shelves Nationwide

I had the honor of photographing the cover for Chef Pyet’s debut cookbook, Rooted in Fire, now available in bookstores across the country. Pyet and I wanted a cover that felt true to who she is, so we built a concept inspired by a vibrant dinner party filled with color, warmth, and community. Her food is an act of service and love, and the goal was to capture that inviting energy from the moment someone picks up the book. Seeing this image on shelves nationwide has been a meaningful milestone in my work as a Native American fashion and portrait photographer.
