Seven Acres Dairy x Chef Pyet: Photography, Food, and Community

In December 2025, I had the opportunity to travel with Chef Pyet to Seven Acres Dairy for a special event series featuring female chefs. I came along to photograph and film the experience, and it ended up being one of those weekends that reminded me how much I enjoy getting to work with talented people over the years.

One of the coolest parts of my job is getting to see different chapters of someone's story. A few years ago, I photographed the cover of Chef Pyet's debut cookbook, Rooted in Fire. This time, I got to photograph her sharing her food and story with rooms full of people who were excited to learn from her and experience her cooking firsthand.

There was so much energy throughout the weekend. Guests asked questions, shared stories, and genuinely connected with what Chef Pyet was creating. One of my favorite things about event photography is watching those interactions happen naturally. The food is important, but so are the conversations that happen around it.

We also screened Courage both nights. As someone who helped produce the film, getting to introduce it to audiences was a really special experience. No matter how many times I've seen the film, I still love watching people experience it for the first time. Seeing what resonates with them and hearing their reactions afterward never gets old.

The entire weekend felt like a reminder of why relationships matter so much in creative work. Some of my favorite projects have come from continuing to work with people over time and getting to see where their careers and passions take them.

I left Seven Acres Dairy with full memory cards, plenty of photos to edit, and a lot of gratitude. It was a beautiful place, the attendees were wonderful, and it was a privilege to document another chapter of Chef Pyet's journey.

I can't wait to see what she does next!
